Antique vintage wood oak box battery coil electrical for project
Description
I am not sure what this antique oak box was used for. It opens on both ends and contained some type of cell for use with alternating currents. It may have been some type of medical device. There is a partial label which speaks of an electropathic guide.The box is made of a somewhat rough sawn oak wood. The joints are angled, not dovetailed. The size is 8 3/4" long by 5" wide and 4 1/2" high. There are two sets of hinges on the back that function well, and two hook fasteners on the front. The top has a carrying handle.
This appears to be late 19th century or early 20th century and the condition of the box is good. The innards are no longer contained, but the box would make a great primitive to display or use for a project.
