PURPLE POD 3oz. hand dyed cheviot wool and alpaca roving

Description

PURPLE POD is ounces of fluffy roving hand dyed in the deepest purples with brighter and paler highlights.

Roving is lighter and thinner than dense, commercial combed top, and requires little or no prep before spinning. the fiber arrangement is fluffier and better for warm woolen spinning.

A blend of 85% fluffy cheviot fleece and 15% cozy alpaca, the roving came from a small farm in Ohio. Cheviots are a particularly cute sheep with clean faces (no civil war re-enactment sideburns, like on my own sheep) and long, erect ears like bunny ears! It's suitable for spinning, felting, or needle felting.

It's also good for knitting or crocheting (roll it into a ball first, then knit from the ball, which will add some twist to the fiber and make it easier to knit).
