There is a book by Daniela Turudich called 1940s Hairstyles. It's out of print and goes for hundreds of dollars on various auction sites. It shows how you can set your hair in pincurls to get those classic looks. I was lucky to find someone who had taken the time to scan the entire book from a library and post it as a PDF. So I'm sharing the wealth! (I have had this posted on my livejournal blog for some time but hoped to reach more people on Etsy.) If you want a copy, send me your email and the PDF is yours! (Email joeireedhats -at- gmail -dot- com.) It's not the most step-by-step book, but the pictures will give you a good idea of what to try! PDF does not include front and back covers but all other info is there. The example page posted is a low-res JPG but the PDF is completely legible.

If you get a copy of this book, please feel free to share it with others, but don't try to sell it to anyone else. That would not be fair or in the spirit of a PIF.
