Lush green leaf dish with recycled glass

Description

The gorgeous sparkly melted glass in the bottom of this bowl used to be a wine bottle! This little leaf would make the perfect holder for a little candle, or you could keep it by your bedside or on a windowsill to keep jewelry safe.
It was formed by hand without the use of a potter's wheel or mould.
I glazed the inside with a beautiful green glaze and placed some broken recycled glass into the bottom before firing. This has melted in the kiln and created a stunning crystalline watery effect. Although it is perfectly smooth to the touch, beneath the surface are tiny cracks in the glass which catch the light and sparkle like ice.
I left the outside unglazed for contrast and to let the natural beauty of the clay shine through.
It measures approx 4 x 3.75 x (height) 1.5 inches
