Small Amber Celadon Chalice and Paten Set with Interlaced Fish Design

Description

This small set is ideal for small group and home celebrations, or as a gift for a new minister.

The porcelain set was thrown on the potter's wheel and hand carved. An interlaced fish design was carved into the porcelain when it was leather-hard (dry enough to hold its shape but not completely dry). No templates or molds were used.

Both pieces were finished with an amber celadon glaze and then fired to approximately 2300°F (1,260°C). While the surfaces are microwave and dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended.

The paten is approximately 6.5" (16.5 cm) in diameter and 1.25" (3 cm) tall.

The chalice stands approximately 3.5" (8.5 cm) tall and holds 2 oz (60 mL). The bowl of the chalice is 2.75" (7 cm) in diameter.
