Just Dessert

From the time I was a small child, I remember being fascinated with cake creations. I spent many happy hours looking through the small Baker's Coconut cake book that my Gran kept tucked into her Betty Crocker Cookie Book. As much as I begged, I never did get to make a funky cake. This piece helps to feed that child who was fascinated with the possibilities of icing. This original painting begins with color photocopies collaged onto a 6" x 8" canvas. The cake and plate are drawn using India ink, and painted using acrylics from Jo Sonja and Golden. The finished piece is coated with matte medium before being sealed with two coats of satin varnish. The edges are painted, making this piece display ready for home or office. Shipping costs include insurance and delivery confirmation (where available).
