a mini version of the japanese wall scrolls that have been painstakingly handcrafted for centuries, this is the perfect piece of art for adding a bit of asian style into your home. hang in your livingspace for inspiration, meditation, or simply for personal enjoyment. or give as a gift to someone who appreciates japanese culture and art - this wall scroll is a keepsake they will treasure forever.

mounted on a strip of canvas-textured paper, this piece features a multicoloured crane on stencil-dyed katazome washi paper. the top and bottom of the wall scroll are complimented by 2 black chopsticks, facing opposite each other for aesthetic symmetry, which are enclosed in thin pockets. both the pockets and the washi itself are hand-sewn onto the canvas paper by me. the washi is sealed with a nontoxic coat for a bit of extra shine and protection.

the wall scroll measures approximately 12" x 9" when hanging from the attached loop of black ribbon. the washi image measures approximately 8" x 4".

comes lightly rolled inside an olive green, elegant wine-bottle style box (see photo on right), ready to give or keep for yourself. the box itself can be reused for many purposes, too.

this beautiful scroll, tucked inside the gift box, is packed securely in a sturdy box and mailed to you by priority mail (if you're in the united states). and don't forget: if you purchase other maoiliosa items with your wall scroll, they ship free, as you only pay shipping on this item. also enclosed is a rolled-up, simple care instruction sheet (see last photo on right).

note - as this is a handmade item, variations in the stitching will occur. i like to think of this as the japanese do: wabi-sabi, embracing the imperfections in the imperfect :).
