Armadillo (Walking, Rolled)
Description
Where to begin about this strange, wonderful creature?The basics: it's a two color screenprint from my original drawings, an edition of 50. Paper size is 18" X 21" with the image size approximately 12" X 14." All created by hand, the red box he's placed in is just wanky enough to drive your architect and graphic designer friends crazy.
Now for the armadillo...this is a nine-banded armadillo, famous in Texas and Southern states although he's been extending his range Northward. German immigrants called him "Panzer Schwein," or armored pig, while in the 1930's he got the nickname "Hoover Hog." They can and do roll into balls like this, as well as jump straight into the air when frightened. They are mammals! Wow.
Rolled very carefully and mailed in a tube.
