Description
The Sea Monkey Mermaids is a signed 8x10 archival giclee print of my original ink and marker drawing.The humanoid sea monkeys in the back pages of old comics, the aquatic ape theory of evolution, and the Feejee Mermaid hoax inspired this piece. The torso of a mummified ape sewn to the tail of a fish, the Feejee Mermaid was exhibited as 'real' mermaid by P.T. Barnum. The making of such creatures was a folk art in Japan.
Prints ship in a non-bendable mailer and cello sleeve. They are sealed with a UV protective coating. Colors vary according to monitor settings. © Melody Sage 2009.
