Not just cute. Practical too! This Sunny Side Up Emery Pincushion will bring a smile to your face, brighten up your sewing room, hold your pins, AND keep them sharp.

Are you familiar with the little strawberry that comes along with the famous tomato pincushion? Do you know the purpose of that strawberry? It's an emery pincushion. Its purpose is to keep your pins and needles sharp. It’s filled with a mineral called "emery". Emery resembles fine metal shavings. It’s used as an abrasive in industrial applications and on things like emery boards.

The yolk of this pincushion is filled with emery. There’s a little sack inside full of emery, nothing else.

My Emery Pincushions are always covered twice. This helps ensure that the emery doesn’t escape through the seams or pinholes made into the fabric.

Emery is rather heavy which gives the added benefit of your pincushion staying just where you want it on your sewing table.

The egg is made from acrylic/polyester felt. No glue was used. It’s all hand-stitched by me.

The white part of the egg is a double layer of felt. You can use this part as well to hold your pins.

This pincushion measures approximately 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm) by 4 1/4 inch (10.8 cm) at its widest points.

Please note that your Sunny Side Up Emery Pincushion may not match the one pictured *exactly*. It'll be very close though.
