Remembering Colette, a Victorian Necklace

This steampunk or Victorian necklace features wonderful vintage bling, brass, watch parts and part of a defunct rosary. I am not sure why it made me think of Colette, but it did. It started when I purchased the extra large bead chain and knew it would make a great backdrop for any number of small and precious things. The spoon centerpiece was knocking around my bench for a while. I had sawn spirals in it to hold what I knew not. The oversized and glamorous crystal fit as though it had been made for it. The crystal and many of the other bibelots came from the wonderful shop of the gypsytinker here on Etsy. There are some pieces of rock crystal, a defunct ladies' watch with a beautifully beveled crystal, the shell of another watch with a steamy gear encased in resin, a rosary fragment, and a lovely faux pearl. The necklace is 16" in length and you can see the clasp I fashioned in the close up shot off the mannequin. I am a trained, if somewhat Francophile, silversmith and have built this piece to last.
