Firecracker - handspun singles wool, silk, silk noil blend yarn - 19 yards

What fun! This yarn is just like a firecracker -- full of zips and pops of color in a rich purple wool base. It was spun from the least blended bits of the roving, so there's a lot of silk noil in this skein, exploding out of it, in fact!

If you are also looking at "Purpleness", please note - this is a singles yarn, and Purpleness is a 2-ply.

This yarn was handspun by me on my Journey Wheel into a cushy thick singles yarn. It's low twist so your knitting should not bias.

The blend is fine wool, silk, and silk noil ... merino cross and romeldale cross wools were used. This is USA-raised wool, dyed in the fleece. The silk and silk noil are also hand dyed. The fleeces and dyeing were all from a fellow shepherdess. Besides spinning this fiber, I carded the dyed fibers together myself to make this rich blend.

Care: hand wash gently in cool water. Dry flat. This is a feltable yarn, do not machine wash.
