Whenever Megan sees the words Taylor Smith Taylor, it makes her think of Courtney Taylor (otherwise known as Courtney Taylor-Taylor, lead singer for the most excellent Dandy Warhols). This plate has nothing to do with the Dandy Warhols, though both are very, very fabulous indeed. Our large dinner plate is unlike anything we’ve ever seen; a flaming, somewhat bemused golden sun sits right smack in the middle of a years’ worth of calendars, in gold, one per every month of 1973. The outer edge of the plate features a lovely dogwood pattern. It’s in beautiful, beautiful condition, and has just a couple of air bubbles and some fading to some of the gold. The back is marked with the laurel leaf crest logo of Taylor Smith Taylor, and is marked as “detergent proof” and “oven proof.” Plate measures 10 ½” in diameter.
