This is a scan of an antique postcard of Marie Antoinette printed in Germany. There is no identification or information on the back of the card, so I don't know if this is one of the more than 30 portraits by Élisabeth-Louise Vigée-Le Brun of Marie or is this is a knock-off by someone else of Vigée-Le Brun's famous portrait of the queen holding the rose in front of her. What I am sure of is that this is a lovely lady in lavender and the card is just shabby chic enough to verify its antique status. The queen's face is immaculate but I have left other specks, scratches and signs of age/wear on the card as is for a perfect vintage look. It looks like I cut the edge of the rose off cropping in, but that is actually exactly how the postcard looks.

Just FYI, Mademoiselle Vigée-Le Brun (16 April 1755 - 30 March 1842) was a French painter, and, according to Wikipedia, is recognized as the "most famous woman painter of the eighteenth century." After the French revolution, she fled to Italy and continued her career.
