Antique Sandwich Glass Horn Ornament or Christmas Tree Ornament
Description
At the end of the day, Cape Cod Craftsmen at the Sandwich Glass Factory discarded many shards and broken or undesirable pieces of glass outside the factory in the late 1800's. Many years later, most of the glass was dug up leaving wonderfully historic clues to the manufacture of the best glass ever made. This horn was probably the handle to some unknown piece of glassware, maybe a candlestick holder, which never made it to market. This piece has been ground to form the horn and slightly beveled and etched to create sparkle on your Holiday tree or wherever you need a bit of Holiday sparkle. Vintage Milliner's red and green buds are held in place with the hanging ribbons and wire wrapped with a Cape Cod shell. A delightful addition to my Sandwich Glass Ornaments. Collect and enjoy all year round. This horn is approx. 1-1/2" wide. To learn more about this Historical glass, please read my Profile.Added on Nov 04, 2009
