This hat makes me think of Anna Karenina, and her tragic struggle for happiness. She lived during a time when women were suppose to live for family and responsibility, forsaking their lives for others.

Anna decided upon her happiness over duty, a distinctly modern woman. Due to the pressures of her time, her happiness was never found. But she stands as an amazing woman of strength and character.

Handblocked black wool riding hat, decorated with balck satin ribbon, hand dyed and hand curled goose biots, and a rare and vintage egret feather. The final touch are the 2 pewter buttons.
