Dark Brown is back! This listing is for the smaller onion baskets in dark brown, garnished with 2 or 3 leaves, with or without beads (you may specify). You could specifically ask for a particular number of leaves, but I sort of create them intuitively, each basket being a bit different from the others. Some have 2 leaves, some 3 and some have an additional pair or two of tiny leaves emerging from the beads.

This basket was inspired by a custom order for a customer who wanted to keep a smaller amount of onions on hand and have room to toss in some garlic as well. It turned out so well that I kept selling my prototypes to other customers. By the time the original customer arrived to pick up her basket, it had become a regular item. These baskets hold about 7 or 8 average sized onions and you can throw in some garlic and shallots.

This one is also woven in a twine weave, using the tough fiber rush material from the larger version. It is about half the volume of the larger basket. The opening is much wider and the sides straight up and down without the kidney shape of the larger basket. The handle is bound with the smallest size rush for well finished, durable handles.

The bottoms of these baskets are actually flat, or close enough that they will sit when full of onions. They do better with air circulating all around, but since this is a smaller basket, it is less likely that your onions will go bad if you choose not to hang it up.

Specific measurements vary, but this basket is about 6-7" across the top and bottom and is about 4 or 5 inches tall. There is approximately the same volume in all of these baskets, but there is some variety in the actual dimensions.
