Butter Dish, Unique and Stylish

Description

Tired of your plain glass butter dish? Or maybe you plop your stick of butter on a bread plate. Instead, why not add style to your table with this unique piece.

The outside top is covered with polymer clay using a layering technique. I applied black clay first, textured it and then added pieces of a sheet of multicolor clay, achieved by blending blue and yellow clay until I got the effect I wanted. The final touch was adding a handle, making removing the top so much easier. After curing, I sprayed on an acrylic protective coating.

The top of the butter dish must be hand-washed with liquid dish detergent and dried with a soft dishcloth. The bottom of the butter dish is not decorated and is dishwasher and microwave safe.
