~ These hair barrette blanks are new old stock .. They are fab quality!! The tension bar that holds your hair on most barrettes is a separate domed bar that slips into the back (your hair always ends up getting caught and pinched and torn out in this style) .. These barrettes, made in France, have the tension bar attached to the arm and it is ONE piece, so no pinching .. yeah!! I absolutely love these barrettes, my hair is thick and they hold it so comfortably.
~ Also, the back is solid (not an open groove)
