Tiny love

Description

This little lavender filled heart holds a tiny old bisque doll in a little pocket.

The handmade heart is made from vintage linen at the front and an old 1920s printed cotton on the back. The pocket is threaded with 100% green silk and the loop is fashion from the same type of ribbon.

The doll measures just 1 ½ inches (4cm) and was made about 1890. It was recently excavated from the ground at the site of a former doll factory in Germany.

These little dolls were originally sold long ago for people to bake in their Christmas puddings as lucky charms. They would be kept and played with by the children of the family.
