Red headed stepchild rag doll pair cotton cloth vintage primitive
Description
This is a pair of true primitive vintage rag dolls. They were probably made by a child in the 1940's or earlier, judging by the tulip print fabric on the smaller doll's bodice. The dolls were sewn by hand and stuffed with cotton. The doll with orange yarn hair, also has hair drawn on the head with pencil or faded ink, and the faces are embroidered. The fabric has aged and has overall tan colored discoloration. This pair is just too sweet, and the innocent charm can't be replicated or captured by a manufactured reproduction.The larger doll is about 12 1/2" and the shorter one is 9" long.
