Fabric Beads Necklace with Picture Jasper and Wood

Description

This earthy necklace features handmade fabric beads set apart with round picture jasper. I've loved this fabric for years but couldn't decide what to make with it until I stumbled upon a technique for making beads out of fabric. The wood beads at the base of the necklace only add to its charm. The necklace has a very earthy and casual look and would pair best with lighter shades of brown, tan, cream, white, shades of red and green. The long tubular beads are handmade by me using cotton fabric. These are totally handmade, it's not fabric fitted and glued onto wooden beads. After the beads are created, the ends are dipped in acrylic paint to prevent fraying. The result is a very lightweight and original necklace.

Strung with a gold magnetic clasp, this necklace measures 21 1/2" in length.
