Totem Number Two

Description

Totems is a line of small tables I’ve begun to have some fun. I usually cut random shapes in between the patterns of furniture parts I cut. They all get collected in a large box and then when the mood hits me I pour them out and make Totems. It’s all about just putting something together. There’s no fretting about whether something should be longer or shorter. No worries about whether or not that hole makes sense or that shape is unnecessarily ornamental.

The process is all very childlike and instinctive. This goes there. I don’t know why but it does. About the only thing I worry about is accidentally air nailing my hand to one of the bits.

Usually the Totems are a combination of Baltic Birch and Maple Ply. If any other material makes their way into the mix I’ll point it out.

Totem Number Two has 12 inch top and bottom diameters. It stands about 21 1/2 inches high.
