Antique MOVPER Detroit Medal Dated 1916 Old

Description

I fell in love with this medal, but just couldn't tear it apart. On top, there is a 17th century explorer, Cadillac, in a circle, with a large devil poking at him. I've never seen a devil used in any fraternal medals, jewelry, or anything before the 1970s, while they may be out there, I just haven't seen it in my adventures. A VERY awesome piece. It reads "27th Annual Session Supreme Council MOVPER June 1916." On the bottom it says "Detroit" up top, with a fabulous antique car. Next is an old red and white enamel viking, I beleive. On the bottom of that, it reads, "Where life is worth living."

This is a medal badge is from the Mystic Order of the Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm (MOVPER)--the Grotto. They were founded at the turn of the century. I don't know much else about them.

The piece is brass and beautifully patinated. Original pin on the back still in working condition. Measures 3inches/7.5cms.
