Vintage Japanese kimono silk red meisen ikat panel

Description

This panel of vintage silk was carefully unpicked from a Japanese kimono and likely dates from the 1930's. The color is a pleasant shade of magenta/red. It's not purple, but it does lean a bit to the blue side of the spectrum. The images are woven (meisen, or ikat) and show flowers, tortoiseshell or honeycomb hexagons, squares and circles woven in yellow, black and white. It has a pleasant, dry touch.

Like all vintage textiles, there may be needle holes, small stains or other signs of use and wear. The image in the photos is from another panel of the same silk and is nearly identical to the one offered in this listing.
