The Tiniest 14k Gold Disc Open Hoop Earrings

c o m p o s i t i o n

I have melted 14k gold and shaped it into these petite little concave discs. Discs are somewhat irregular in shape and have a very organic feel to them. The tiny discs measure 3-4 mm in width and are about 1mm+ thick. I have soldered them to sterling silver wire, shaped and hammered the wire, and oxidized it to a dark gunmetal color. The contrast of the gold and dark metal is absolutely striking. The ends of the "open hoops" have been hammered slightly to stay put in your ear.
