Marlin -- Origami Crane Framed Art

Description

This marlin is made from a total of 177 blue foil origami cranes. It eye is made from a 3/4 inch(1.8cm) disc of pearl white paper, with a 9mm turquoise rhinestone. The marlin is mounted on a crushed velveteen background of multiple shades of blue that measures 8 inches (20.3 cm) by 10 inches (25.4 cm), it is enclosed in a 2.5 inch (6.35 cm) deep shadowbox frame which was also handmade by me, and is painted a glossy black lacquer. The overall size is 9 inches (22.5 cm) by 11 inches (27.5 cm).

The last two photos of the marlin were taken with the frame to show more detail.
