Mtorolite...Chalcedony from Zimbabwe...The Whimsey Necklace

Description

This one-of-a-kind stone is a chalcedony from South Africa custom made for us by our local gemologist. This is the second stone we've had in this shape and probably the last for awhile, as he has no more. We love this cut because of the way it hugs the neck. The mtorolite has a darker sploch on the left side to give it a little depth.

We suspended it from silver chain and draped three strands of colorful turquoise Czech charlotte glass seed beads above. A bit of delicate sterling chain intermingles with the seed bead strands. The accent stone on the right is our favorite lucky wheel faceted Russian amazonite. From the hammered circle on the left, we hung our signature 'swoosh', this time an opalite blue swarowski crystal.

We finished the necklace with various chains and our handmade hammered sterling silver clasp.

Details:
Length: 15 inches.
Gemstone measures one inch long and a tad over 1 1/2 inches wide.
Chain types: sterling silver rolo, long and short.

We use only the highest quality nickel-free silver, never any base metal.

Mtorolite comes with its own Whimsey box for storage and travel, with instructions for long term care of this special piece. (See bottom right thumbnail).

As you can see, the Whimsey necklace is made to be worn around the collar bone and not as a choker. We can adjust the size if you need longer or shorter. Please email us.
