TRADITIONAL MINCEMEAT

Just what you need to make your mincepies special this year!
Delicious home-made mincemeat using the same recipe that my Mum used in my childhood ( and at 84 she still makes a jar or two every year!)

Ingredients: suet, mix fruit, cherries, apple, brown sugar, mix peel, lemons, spices, sherry

This hexagonal jar holds approx 10 1/2 oz (300 gm) of mincemeat.

Not just for mincepies at Christmas, mincemeat can be used in recipes throughout the year. Put a spoonfull in the centre of a baked apple, or on top of a pork chop before baking in the oven, or mix with breadcrumbs to make a quick and tasy stuffing.
