This vintage rutillated quartz cabochon comes from a private collection put away more than 30 years ago!
We will be listing other such cabochons over the next day or so so please check back if you are interested in such vintage treasures.

Much of the rutillated quartz in the current market comes from China. The classic material, and the best, came from Brazil in the 1970's. This lovely high domed cabochon is from Minas Gerais, Brazil and represents the best of the original production.

This stone measures 34mm x 13mm x11mm and would be ideal for wire wrapping or bezel setting. It weighs 33.08 carats!

The material is very transparent with minimal flaws and a beautiful pattern of golden needles of rutile. The rutile needles fill the cabochon very uniformly and the quartz itself has a high degree of transparency!

Price is for this one cabochon which we 100% guarantee to be vintage from the 1970's and mined in Brazil!

You'll never see cabochons of this quality nowadays at your neighborhood "gem show"!
