Jumbo Barrette

This barrette is a true one of a kind! Each piece of glass that comes out of the kiln has it's own flash & personality- I hope this one finds the perfect home :)

The barrette was made by fusing layers of glass together, and then firing the piece a second time at a lower temperature over a mold (to shape the piece).

The base layer of glass is a beautiful seafoam green. Over that you can see a vibrant jags of yellow, red & white, and some brown & yellow striped chunks. The barrette measures 11cm (4 1/2") long. The closure is a 75mm locking spring bar (it is shown in the last photo).

This piece was made for women with long, thick hair!! If you are just looking to pull a little bit of hair up, you will want to consider a smaller barrette.
