Gypsy Knotted Leather and Handmade Glass Bead Necklace by Blanche and Guy

I had forgotten how much I love to make these knotted leather necklaces! With the large Hill Tribe silver spirit lock as my inspiration, I selected six of Guy's handmade glass beads and knotted them on 1mm thick black leather. The colors are purples, blues, golden yellow, white and clear. One has Guy's hand-pulled cane, another has an encased stripe technique and the two large barrels are decked out in the golden mustard/yellow. There are also two more Hill Tribe beads: an origami bead with stamped flowers and a simple round bead. So unique and fun! The necklace closes with my own handmade sterling silver hook clasp.

This necklace measures just under 18 inches long. Made entirely by hand in our glass bead studio (well, we didn't make the leather! or the Hill Tribe silver beads!). Each glass bead has been kiln annealed for added strength, durability and shine. A very special necklace for a very special person!
