If you are looking for the unusual, off the beaten path, gemstone, this one might be for you. This ring features a faceted Brazilian Black Needle Quartz. The needles are actually pieces of tourmaline. The gem itself is similar to a drop of rainwater, not clear but reflecting bits of color. There's even a sort of glitter effect. Running all through this are black needles shooting across the stone. The overall effect is gray/black with an inner shimmer. This gem is 8.8x6.8mm and 1.70carats.

The sterling silver ring is handmade. The band is 3mm wide and made in two layers. The top layer is a flattened twisted wire creating a scallop design. The silver plays well with the gray tone of the Brazilian Quartz. Folklore says that this stone will help alleviate stress and loneliness. This ring is a size 6.5.
