Cyborg Bite - Cyberpunk meets Steampunk jewelry - Horror and Science Fiction
Description
This is one in a very limited edition series of my cyborg Jaw necklaces. In this necklace I hope to share my love of science fiction, horror and steampunk in one necklace. I always loved the idea of cyborgs - part human and part machine... so why not cyborg animals too? Can you tell I'm a Terminator fan ;)Half this pice is a jawbone and the other half is part of a Elgin pocketwatch. You can see the engraving in the macro photo I provided. It is numbered as well - but that is on the back of this piece.
This little jawbone comes from a Mink. Its not very big jaw as you can well imagine - this piece from brass metal tip to the bottom of the jaw is only about 1.5inches (about 3.8cm). There are some little tiny bits of watch parts including a screw that decorate the jaw. The teeth though aren't sharp enough to bite.
If you are a person who collects very unusual jewelry, or just loves the exotic, this would be the piece for you. I know there are a number of people who love bones - and I'm sure this beautiful and frightening piece will belong to someone who will love it.
I chose a simple chain that is more delicate than the last one I used. I think it matches well with the silvery-toned bail at the top. I love the sharp curve on the brass pocket watch piece - and as you can see it is numbered as well. It is from a very old end-of-life pocket watch.
The jaw is real bone - from a Mink. I believe it is quite old and alas, I know nothing about where it was acquired. I have a few pieces of bone I've collected over the years, but these will be quite a limited edition series.
