1983 'In the Wood Little Red Riding Hood Met Old Father Wolf', 2 Gustave Dore' Lithograph Engravings, Pl 51-2

Description

Two wonderfully sinister works from Gustave Dore' gleaned from a damaged a 1983 reference book on children's book illustrations.

Both illustrations were originally included the 1867 French volume collection, 'Les Contes de Perrault' (Perrault's Fairy Tales).

The first is a full page wood engraving & is an iconic image from Little Red Riding Hood. The image measures 5.75" x 7.5" (14.6 x 19 cm) and is captioned ~

'In the wood Little Red Riding Hood met old Father Wolf'

The second is an in-text illustration, uncaptioned, and measures 4.5" x 5.75" (11.4 x 14.6 cm)

The entire page measures a 8.25" x 11" (21 x 27.9 cm) & the illustrations are enormously frame-worthy page is smooth with a gentle sheen & has no tears, folds, creases or marks ~ altogether a gorgeous page.

Perfect for your collage work, your altered art ~ perhaps a bit frightening, however, for the young reader.
