Vintage Style Frame Bag Sewing Pattern

Description

Using an 8" kisslock purse frame, this makes a medium sized bag with a great vintage look.

If you like to work with vintage fabrics or if you have always wanted to learn how to work with these fabulous metal frames, I think you will love this pattern. Perfect for making your own shabby chic looking bag.

I carry the rose bag in the photo and have had people ask me about it. They are amazed when I tell them I made it because they assumed it was a vintage find.

I love the capacity of this bag. I also love the easy access of the wide frame opening.

Finished dimensions of bag:
Frame is 8" wide (20.3cm) by about 3" tall (7cm)
Bag height is 8.5" up to edge of frame (21.5cm)
Bottom width of bag is a substantial 12" (30.5cm)
Depth measured at bottom of bag is 4.5" (11.5)
Your strap drop will depend on the length of chain you use. The bag is pictured with a 30" ball chain, doubled to a 15" chain for a 7" drop. BitsandPurses sells a better quality of chain that I use now, but it is not in the photos. (see link below.)

I think you will be proud of your neatly top-stitched, firm bottom, and the styling and performance of your bag.

Pattern is emailed to you and includes full size pattern pieces and fully illustrated instructions. Open the PDF file at 100% and print at 100%. One inch reference squares are printed on each pattern piece so you can verify that you have printed the pattern at the correct size.
