Much of the rutillated quartz in the current market comes from China. The classic material, and the best, came from Brazil in the 1970's. This gorgeous vintage cabochon is from Minas Gerais, Brazil and represents the best of the original production.

This stone measures 27mm x 17mm x9mm and would be ideal for wire wrapping or bezel setting. It weighs 31.85 carats!

The material is very transparent with almost no flaws. The rutile is in thick bundles some of which emanate from a rutile crystal at one end.
Price is for this one cabochon which we 100% guarantee to be vintage from the 1970's and mined in Brazil!
