Big Bakelite Cherry Ring

Description

A glossy, carved Bakelite cherry from the 1940s is set atop a silver plated ring.

The cherry, complete with green leaf, was a super collectible Bakelite earring (a pair might fetch $100-$150). However, with just the one in my possession, and parts of the original earring missing (a little stem and the earring clip), turning it into a ring seemed like a perfect way to enjoy its juicy boldness!

This ring is big and bold but still totally wearable - it measures 7/8" (2.4 cm) across.

The adjustable silver plated band is far more substantial than the other ring bases I typically use, since a ring of this heft deserves a sturdier ring. It feels like a standard ring with the added bonus of being able to customize it to a snug fit.
