We went searching for a local source for foam to be used as a needle felting work surface. Previously we were ordering our foam from across the country and incurring enormous shipping charges. We found a local salesman who swore that he could get us something much better than the high density foam we were already using. "I don't think so" was our response. Well, guess what? We were wrong. This stuff is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

It is so much better than upholstery foam or even the high density foam we've used before. You will find that the surface does not break down as fast meaning you don't get foam particles in your work. It is used with high-end electronics which means it is anti-static so you won't be forever digging out fibers which have been left behind. This is now the only work surface we use for our needle felting and we're making it available to you. Oh, and there's an extra bonus, because this foam is rigid it is very easy to remove a layer with a serrated knife to renew your pad when necessary. It is impossible to get a clean cut on upholstery foam.

You will receive a foam pad that measures 8 x 5 x 4 inches.

Here's what our buyers are saying: Okay, so in the listing photo, it was hard to see anything particularly different about this foam compared to the kind I have been using for my needle felting. I needed a new one though, so I ordered this, and when it arrived today it was immediately obvious that the similar appearance had been deceiving (in a good way!). This is much higher density foam than my old felting pad. In fact, this is more of a solid foam brick than a squishy foam pad. I tried it out right away, and so far I love it. The fibers don't seem to embed as easily in the surface, but the needle slides into the foam without any problem, so it isn't altogether TOO firm. It certainly seems tough enough to stand up to all the stabbing for a good long while. I'd say it's just right. Plus, at 4 inches thick, I'll sure never prick myself with a felting needle through this foam block. Okay, I'm done gushing about it now. Thank you for sharing this great find with other felters!
