1895 Antique German Engraving of the Eiffel Tower and Other Grand Iron Structures
Description
There was an uproar in Paris when Gustav Eiffel built his tower. It was deemed an eyesore, an insult to Parisian sensibilities. Many wanted it dismantled after the Paris Exposition in 1889. But I suppose, cooler (and more forward-thinking) heads prevailed. And thank goodness for that. Iron structures can be beautiful, as proven by these architectural beauties. This plate is in very good condition and ready for framing. There is another illustration of French structures on the reverse of one side, while the other is blank.
