This necklace is originated from a conversation I had with a lady on Etsy. She contacted me one day said she would like a single pearl on gold wire, simple, very simple!

Her only request is a thin gold wire that will lay around her neckline delicately. Then I made this necklace, put on myself to try it, I LOVED it! Especially, I wear T-shirts a lot at work, this style is just perfect!

So, here it is, a very simple and delicate necklace made of:

* Satin gold color wire, gives the necklace a soft, silky feel. This special designed beading wire has excellent flexibility and drape, kink resistance, abrasion resistance, superior strength.

** 1/20 14k gold filled spring clasp, closed ring, wire guard and crimp beads.

*** 12mm black shell pearl.

Necklace default length is 16", please contact me if you need other lengths.
Pearl default color is black, can also come in white, silver, pink, lavender, green, golden, brown and blue. The brown and blue pearls are 10mm in diameter.

What is gold filled? And what does 1/20 14k GF mean?
Gold filled is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal such as brass. Some high quality gold-filled pieces have the look, luster, and beauty of 14 karat (58%) gold. If the gold layer is 12k or higher the minimum layer of karat gold in an item stamped GF must equal at least 1/20 the weight of the total item. 1/20 12kt GF is the most common stamp you will find on gold-filled jewelry. 10kt and 14kt are also common karatages. Why shell pearl, and how it is made?
I like the size, shape, weight and choices of colors that shell pearl provide. It’s rare to find natural pearls are this big and perfect. Shell pearls are made of the shell of oyster, which is the mother of pearls. Hand select good quality oyster shell, and cut into strips, then round into beads, polish, drill, dye, string.
