Mahogany Inlay Box with Tropical Paradise Design Circa 1949

Description

This is one from my box collection - a tropical paradise inlay, with palm trees, rocky beach, volcano and water. I don't know the types of wood, other that the box itself is a nice dark mahogany. This is done in real inlay, not the "paper" type that the Japanese used so much in the 50's and 60's. But it might be made in Japan, too.

The condition is good, with the top having some wear. It could be sanded down and clear-coated, but I will leave that up to the new owner. It has 2 hinges, and the inside has been covered with pale yellow felt.

Measurements are: 5 inches by 7 1/8 inches by 2 inches high.
