Randy the Rhino -(13”/33cm) Soft Toy Pattern:


Randy is the first “Out of Africa” Funky Friend. This baby rhino with his little lost look will capture your heart even if you’re not wild about wildlife! Made of fleece, he’s so cuddly that people just want to snuggle him, horns and all! He’s one of the simplest Funky Friends designs - made from one material, he will be quick and easy for a beginner to make. Kids love him, but for the adults, Randy makes an excellent gift for Valentines Day. String a little sign around his neck saying’ “Do I make you horny baby?” and you’re bound to get your message noticed!

RECOMMENDED FABRICS
Fleece, of any type, stretch fabrics eg. velour, chenille and flannelette, for the body.
Any fabric scraps, including quilting scraps for inner ear and foot pad highlights.

***Although the pattern says non-stretch fabrics, the Hippo can be also be made from fleece, but I don't think she is quite as cute as in the non-stretch fabrics which show off her naturally curvy shape! Maybe that's because it took me ages to get her looking so good in non-stretch fabrics!!! (I have included instructions on how to stitch cute little toes if she is made of fleece!)
