Small Heavenly Crane Pendant - Fine Silver Necklace - Sakura Collection

The crane may be the oldest living bird on earth, existing for over 60 million years, and for almost as long, has been considered a symbol of joy, good fortune and longevity. In Greek and Roman myths, the crane was the bird of Apollo, heralding Spring and the celebration of life. In Asian cultures, the crane is known as the heavenly crane symbolizing good fortune and longevity. Despite it's many interpretations, one thing is not in question, the absolute beauty and elegance of this amazing creature. That beauty is what I tried to capture in this Fine Silver pendant.

This necklace is part of my Sakura Collection, a series of designs that reflect the elegance and timeless beauty of traditional Japanese design.

I have handcrafted this pendant of Fine Silver, the most precious form of Silver. Fine Silver is 99.9% pure silver and has a higher silver content than Sterling Silver, which is 9.25% silver. Unlike, Sterling Silver, Fine Silver is less prone to tarnishing, and will retain it's lovely shine with little or no effort.

The pendant measures approximately 3/4 of an inch in diameter (20mm) and comes with an 18 inch Sterling Silver chain. If you'd like a longer chain, just ask, I'd be happy to substitute a different size.
