NT-15 Vintage Goldtone Seed Pearl and Amethyst Costume Cocktail Ring ca 1960

Description

Offered is an elegant costume cocktail ring in goldtone with seed pearls and amethysts. The ring is adjustable from size 6 upwards, as it has a split ring.

The ring reminds me of the wings of a butterfly. There is intricate detail on the sides of the ring. The center amethyst is approximately 12mm in diameter, and, without knowing the depth of the stone, the amethyst is approximately 4 1/2 carats. The center stone is surrounded by seed pearls and tiny amethysts approximately 2-3mm in diameter.

The stone appears to be a real amethyst, based on its color and look; however, there is no way of telling for sure, without removing the stone and risking damage to it and the setting. There is always a chance that it is a synthetic amethyst, but it is unlikely.

The ring is in very good condition. There are no missing or damaged stones.

This would make a wonderful addition to a vintage costume jewelry collection.
