NORTHERN LIGHTS textile art BASKET bowl

Description

This basket is filled with night sky sparkle. Against a field of north country winter blues, it shines.

This generous, bowl shaped basket measures 15.5 inches round
(in diameter) and sits 5 inches high. It has been hand coiled in a collection of blues and white. Two of the fabrics used have a silvery and multicolored metallic look that glitters. My camera could not fully capture the sparkle, so expect it to twinkle more in person.
There are also just a bit of green and touch of red.

It is a nice, deep, large size for use as a centerpiece on any dining room or kitchen table, and makes a terrific housewarming or holiday gift.


My baskets are made by the coiling method of basketry. Strips of fabric (both new and recycled) are wrapped around an inner cording as the shape is formed. The inner cording makes these baskets sturdier than other fabric, felted or crocheted items.
Each one is entirely handmade with no machine stitching.
Each one is unique.
