Handpainted local wool roving MIRKWOOD 3 oz.
Description
Mysterious and deep shades of green mingle on naturally colored wool roving. I created this colorway on local wool from a Coopworth sheep who lives on a small farm in West Virginia (read more about this farm on my blog at http://wildharedaily.wordpress.com/2008/10/09/now-and-forevermore-farm/). After shearing, the wool went to a mill to be washed and carded into roving, which I then dyed with acid dyes. This listing is for three ounces of wool. Coopworth is a long, lustrous wool considered "all purpose." It felts well, and is easy to spin. Custom spinning available - contact me for details.
