Tab Dress - Rayon - Reserve for shanmagr

Description

This sleeveless dress is my answer to the endless crossover front dresses in retail shops. Tired of saying "you can just wear a camisole under it", I decided to sew the cami right in.

This dress looks better the curvier you are. Those who are smaller on top should do without the centre tab altogether. Please see the Swing Top http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33130878 for reference.

There are lots of adjustments that can be made to this dress, particularly the width of the waistband, so don't hesitate to let me know if some feature looks like it wouldn't fit you.

I can make this dress in all the colours I currently have (please see colour chart in the last image to the right). It is shown in Cobalt (now available in Bamboo only).

1. Bust (arms at your sides)
2. Underbust
3. Waist (at your smallest part)
4. Lower Hip (at your widest part)
5. Underbust Depth (top of shoulder, over the bust, to the underbust)
6. Waist Depth (top of shoulder to your true waist - your smallest part)
7. Across the Shoulders (tip to tip, across the front)
8. Ideal length from true waist to hem
9. Ideal Center tab height? Determined by the centre stance height of your (intended) bra.


About the fabric:

We work with several different rayon jersey blends. Rayon (also known as Viscose) is made from a variety of plant fibre sources, including grasses, reeds, and trees. Bamboo Rayon is specifically made from bamboo, while Modal is specifically made from beech trees.

Rayon dyes more easily than cotton, allowing for deep, saturated colours and minimal fading. It drapes beautifully and has a silky sheen. Although it’s technically a manufactured fibre, it breathes and feels like a natural fibre against the skin. The Bamboo rayon is softer and more durable than both regular rayon and cotton.

We stock two different Bamboo Rayon blends, one with cotton and one without. The cotton content adds body and lessens drape and sheen. It also makes some colours a little softer. Generally, we recommend the Bamboo - Cotton for casual bottoms (pants, shorts, leggings) and for single layer garments. For a dressier option, or for any of our double layer garments, we recommend the regular rayon, Modal, or pure Bamboo Rayon.
