NEW 2010 letterpress artists moon calendar LUNA

Description

The Lizard Press artists' calendar luna is based on the lure and the lore of the moon. This is a specially requested reprint and upgrade of the 2006 calendar which was shown in exhibits across the country, including the Off the Grid in Chicago, The Calendar in San Francisco and Photoworks in Denver.

Represented by illustration of the moon from the 19th century, luna is accompanied by a quote from Shakespeare: "lady, by yonder blessed moon that tips with silver all these fruit-tree tops." {romeo} "O, swear not by the moon, the fickle moon, th' inconstant moon, that monthly changes in her circle orb, Lest that thy love prove likewise variable." {juliet}

The calendar is a linear one, for reference, outlines are supplied for weekends, the days we look forward to for moon gazing and romance! Full moon dates are supplied according to Universal Time from the U.S. Naval Observatory. Full moon names based on medieval Celtic lore.

Luna 2010 was printed on a full moon on Fabriano Tiziano "blue night" in a limited edition of 53, each broadside is signed and numbered (please note it will be a different number than the one in the photo).
