Maw sit sit Forest Ring

Description

Lush, rich, deep green swirling with ebony make this piece of maw sit sit valuable. There are NO white inclusions as seen on most of these stones. A great find indeed.

I set this 32mm stone in pure silver bezel supported by a generous 15mm wide sterling band. The silver has been oxidized for depth and rustic beauty.

The stone is called Maw Sit Sit. It is a rare green gemstone that has dark-green to black veining; it sometimes has white spots. Maw-sit-sit is found in the famous jade mining region of Tawmaw in the Himalayan foothills of northwestern Myanmar (formally Burma). Although its exact composition is still unknown, Maw-sit-sit is composed of chromite, ureyite, chrome jadeite, symplektite, chrome amphibole, and other lighter minerals. Due to the recent embargo and the Myanmar government controlling all exports-this material has become very difficult to obtain.

Metaphysical Properties: Maw Sit Sit is said to help one find joy in life. Wear or carry one when you are outdoors, hiking, working, or just relaxing. It is said to be energizing, to help one feel alive, and to ward off melancholy and depression.
